Delightful Dining at The Jungle Club

A Gateway Villa Rentals favourite, The Jungle Club is a must for anyone visiting Koh Samui. This place really is something special, boasting some of, if not the best views that Koh Samui has to offer. Alongside amazing views this Samui gem hosts a spectacular restaurant, with both local and international dishes on offer. Having visited the restaurant on countless occasions I can comfortably say that visiting The Jungle Club will be one of your Samui holiday highlights.

Having spoken to the owners, I got a great understanding of how much time and energy has been put into making this restaurant what it is today. The owners bought the piece of land over 20 years ago, when the road up to the jungle club didn’t even exist. Since then they have spent many years building this beautiful spot, high up in the Samui jungle. You can tell they have a passion for the island, and thoroughly enjoy ensuring that their restaurant and hotel/ bungalows remain very natural and discreet, nestled peacefully within the Samui jungle.

The Food:

Wow, where do I start. The food is just fantastic. The presentation, the flavours, the setting- the whole ambiance of The Jungle Club really makes for a great evening. If local cuisine is what you are looking for, don’t worry, this place has an array of Thai foods. One of my personal favourites is the Penang Curry, with rich flavours in a mildly spicy creamy curry sauce. If Thai food isn’t for you, or you’ve already had your fair share of Pad Thai’s on holiday, The Jungle Club won’t disappoint. Their newly appointed Italian chef created a menu for all palettes. The Jungle Chicken Burger is something special- a personal favourite of ours, something that we find ourselves ordering most times we visit this brilliant restaurant. Finding a good burger on Samui can be hard, but these guys definitely get it right.

The View:

Settled high up in a coconut plantation, the restaurant has multiple platforms overlooking the bay of Chaweng. With large comfy bean bags across all platforms, it makes for a great social atmosphere every evening, allowing guests to enjoy their amazing food whilst embracing the jaw dropping views over the island. Our favourite time to visit is just before sunset- as you will want to enjoy the views whilst still light outside. If you are thinking of coming on an evening, it might be wise to book in advance, especially if you want a table with a great view, as it can get quite busy.

Overall this restaurant really is a Koh Samui original, with a fantastic story behind it. They have been on the island longer than most restaurants on Samui, which is made clear from the road up. It is beautifully designed, with fantastic food, a vibrant atmosphere and an even better view. Make sure you visit The Jungle Club on your next villa holiday to Koh Samui- you won’t be disappointed!
