Social Dining in Canggu

As the Irish saying goes - Laughter is brightest in the place where the food is. This statement couldn’t be truer when it comes to Bali. Some of the coolest people I have met during my stay here have been while dining. In this blog, I will share with you one of the coolest places to meet new friends whilst also enjoy a delicious breakfast.

Introducing Crate Cafe

So you’ve just woken up from a night of partying like there's no tomorrow. Maybe you went to Old Man’s Bar? Maybe you were at Echo Beach Club? Maybe you just can’t remember 🤷‍♂. Now you find yourself crawling out of bed and BOOOOM! The dreaded, the hatted, the unwelcomed hangover strikes. Your last memory of downing Tequila shots with Jim doesn’t seem like a good idea anymore.

Worry no further because Crate is here for the rescue! Hop on your motorcycle (if you’re not still drunk) or jump in a taxi and get yourself to Crate cafe. Crate provides breakfast and lunch offered in a spacious, relaxed, open plan environment. The perfect remedy for the hangover 👌.

The social element of Crate for me is what makes this place so special. Alongside their mouth-watering menu, Crate is a great place to make friends and meet new people. Populated with travellers from all around the world, it is really easy to get chatting with those sitting around you. I often hear complaints that the food takes too long to be delivered, however, I think this is what makes Crate so special. A blessing in disguise. The longer waiting times encourages everyone to get chittering.

The Food

I have never been to a restaurant which serves more picturesque food than Crate. The colours are so vibrant that no one can help but to take a cheeky. Crate grows many of its products in-house. Eggs, apples, dragon fruit and papaya are some of the foods that are grown naturally and organically. Papaya straws are used instead of plastic straws for environmental efficacy.

There are many appetising vegan options to choose from as well. The vegan burger comprised of three multi-colored patties sandwiched in a multi-seeded bun is one of my favourites.

The fruit bowls at Crate are insane! The bowls are huge with many fruits screaming out freshness. Crate has set the bar high as to what a fruit bowl should really look like.

A meal here will cost around £2.50 and will be sure to fill you up.

If you’re planning to visit or currently in Bali, why not check out what Crate has to offer and be sure to let us know how you like it.

And on that note, I would like to end this blog with a quote I feel compliments this read:

"All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast."
