Phang Nga Bay
Featuring the infamous James Bond Island, Phang Nga Bay is a place you should definitely choose to visit while you are in Phuket. Famed for being featured in the James Bond movie, the ‘Man With The Golden Gun’, the unique limestone karts that stand vertically out of the water are a fantastic sight to see.
The best way to enjoy Phang Nga Bay is undoubtedly through a boat trip, where you can enjoy all the surrounding sights. Most trips will take you through James Bond Island but if you can please also try to visit the neighbouring islands nearby such as Koh Panyee. The best way to reach Phang Nga Bay and give yourself the chance to see everything in a day would be to leave on a boat trip from the east coast of Phuket which should take you straight there. It is advised that you explore the bay on a tour, as the local expertise will keep you safe and ensure you won’t get lost.
Phang Nga Bay is filled uninhabited islands and caves meaning that it is home to an abundance of beautiful undisturbed wildlife and nature. A trip to Phang Nga Bay is a cultural trip you sure won’t be quick to forget!

Phi Phi Island
Famed for being the location for the mega Hollywood film The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio. Phi Phi is a group of six islands, with the two main ones being Phi Phi Leh and Phi Phi Don.
Phi Phi Leh is uninhabited but features the infamous Maya Bay the set for where The Beach was filmed. Phi Phi Don is inhabited and is where most visitors stay. For some people Phi Phi is the only reason to come to Phuket, just to get a chance to see the stunning islands for themselves.
There are plenty of boat trips to take you to Phi Phi Islands so make sure to get on one of them. Rather than more words, I think the pictures below will do a better job of why you should visit this tropical paradise on your travels!
Wat Chalong
With Thailand being for the most part a heavily Buddhist country, it would be wrong to omit seeing a Buddhist temple from the list. Wats (Buddhist temples) are an extremely important feature and symbol of Thailand, with 29 Wats spread around in Phuket alone.
Wat Chalong is one such temple and it has been opening its arms for visitors all over the world for the best part of a century or more now. Locals come to do their prayers, while tourists come to connect and learn about Buddhism. It is a great place to learn about Thailand’s rich history and culture and to get a better understanding of some of the key teachings of Buddhism.
Please remember when visiting that Wats are sacred spaces for local people so be sure to show respect and appreciation for the culture at all times. Dress appropriately and try to copy the way the locals act inside the temples.
